We couldn't see anyone but Robert Pattinson playing the role of Edward, but Mike Welch (who plays Bella's school friend, Mike) was originally up for the part! Mike reveals: "[Casting for Edward] never felt right and then I came back and auditioned for, Eric [Bella's other friend} and then eventually found the right fit with Mike."

Well There Is Hayden Christensen, Dustin Milligan, Or Chace Crawford, Just To Name A Few People. To Be Honest There Are Hundreds Of Hot Actors In Their 20's That Could Have Been Cast For This Role. Also I'm Positive That If Someone Other Than Robert Pattinson Was Cast For This Role Most Of You (Except For The Creative Ones That Actually Have Any Eye For Talent And Would Be Able To Cast People On Talent And Not Just A Pretty Face) Would Love Him With The Same Devotion And Say "No One Could Play Edward Like (Who Ever Was Cast)" Just Like 98% Of The Comments Above. Because You Look At The Face Not The Acting Ability.

Even though I don't like Robert or Edward's character [Team Jacob!] I'd have to say Robert fits the role - perfectly.
OMG!!! I would have never been able to see him as Edward! Rob is the perfect person for him. Also, everyone says that Kristen is the worst person to play Bella, but my opinion is that she portrays Bella perfectly. I dont care what anybody says about her! Go Kristen and Rob!!!!

all the cullens have good people to play them i mean perfect people. and my favorite characters are
bella,edward,jacob,alice,seth,carlise,esme,jasper,emmmet,and somtimes rose,charlies ok

oh and do you know edwards middle name i don't think he has 1 or jacob bella's is maire cause in new moon when edward came back and bella was telling edward that if she died he should go to the voulturi and kill himself and thats when edward called her by her full name.

I think Robert Pattinson is perfect for Edward Cullen! Rob is really beyond beautifully gorgeous and that how Edward is described... and plus Kristen and Robert have awesome chemistry and thats absolutely terrific because Edward and Bella are truly meant to be together and Kristen and Robert have a way of really showing that on screen, they're both amazing at acting ! :)
